Fourteen San Francisco community groups shared over $50,000 raised from this year's Castro Street Fair. The funds were distributed at a December 11 party at Hamburger Mary's and represent 1,300 volunteer hours from supporters of the nonprofits. Over the years of the fair, nearly $1.5 million has been distributed back to the community. This year the fair also donated funds to maintain the rainbow flag in Harvey Milk Plaza.
