Dekkoo, the streaming website for independent LGBT films, is launching a one-week short film challenge, with up to $10,000.00 in prizes.

The competition's theme is 'Love and Distance.'

"Dating from a distance. Home alone and loving it. Dealing with romance and heartbreak while social distancing. Far-away flirting," are among the announced possible subjects.

"The pandemic has put a spotlight on our relationships with others and ourselves," the site's promoters stated. "What do relationships in the time of quarantine look like? How do they function? Shoot and submit a 5-minute maximum length short film telling a story from a Queer perspective. It can be funny, sad, romantic, sexy — anything."

One winner will be selected with a $5000 prize. Four Audience Favorites will receive $1000 each. Voting will be tallied through May 18. All films must be submitted by May 10 before midnight EST, 9pm PST.

For more information on submitting your five-minute film, visit Dekkoo's Blog.
