On February 16, the Bare Chest Calendar held its third preliminary competition for the 2024 Calendar at the Powerhouse bar in SoMa. During the usual irreverent festivities, Team 2023 was brought onstage for a presentation of last year's fundraising total, a whopping $205,190. This is the second highest total ever raised by a team in a single year.
Since 1985, the Bare Chest Calendar has raised more than $3 million for its beneficiaries. The BCC has always been a grassroots organization with deep ties to the community. The Bare Chest Calendar is now an independent 501(c)(3), but the sole beneficiary for Team 2023 remains Positive Resource Center and its program, the AIDS Emergency Fund.
