Diablo-Silverado Boy Scout Council in Pleasant Hill Thursday, October 18. In the background is Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) who honored Andresen for his courage to speak out. Andresen, 18, a high school senior, was denied the Eagle Scout award because he is gay. He and his mom, Karen, started a petition on change.org urging the Boy Scouts to give Ryan the award.
