Donna Sachet made history Tuesday, September 29 as she sang the national anthem before the San Francisco Giants game at AT&T Park. It is believed to be the first time a drag persona has sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Major League Baseball game. Sachet, the Bay Area Reporter's society columnist and a longtime performer and fundraiser for numerous LGBT charities, thanked her legions of supporters in an entry on her Facebook page. "Thank you to all who were there to cheer me on ... and to the SF Giants for this tremendous opportunity." The Giants went on to win against the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-4.
