Magnet sets $20,000 fundraising goal

An anonymous supporter of Magnet, the gay men’s health center in the Castro, is playing Santa again this year with a promise to match any donations the center receives in the month of December.

Last year, the mystery gentleman cut Magnet a check for $14,000 after the center raised $13,500. Since this December 1, Magnet has already pulled in $13,300 toward a goal of $20,000, which the donor has agreed to match, said Magnet director Steve Gibson.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution can do so through the center’s Web site at Click on the “donate now” at the top left corner of the site’s main page.

Or stop by the center between 7 to 9 p.m. this Saturday (December 9) for its holiday party.
