Veep debate watch party at center

The LGBT Community Center will host a viewing party of the vice presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware) and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (R) Thursday, October 2. The watch party starts at 5:30 p.m. at the center, 1800 Market Street in San Francisco. The nationally televised debate starts at 6.

The viewing party is co-hosted by the center, its women’s program Center Women Present, and LGBT professional networking group ActivelyOut. The event is free and open to the public.

Organizers noted that while typically, vice presidential debates don’t garner the same level of interest as the presidential debates, this year likely will be different. John McCain’s surprise selection of Palin as his running mate has generated high interest.
