3 shops robbed in Castro

Three shops were robbed over the weekend in San Francisco’s Castro district, according to police.

The first incident occurred at about 7 p.m. in the 4100 block of 17th Street when a man in his 40s entered the store with a gun and ordered the victim, 27, to open the register. He then reached over the counter and took money from the register before fleeing, police said.

Then, about 15 minutes later, a man and a woman entered a shop in the 4000 block of 17th Street and approached the cash register. The male suspect punched the victim and stole cash, according to police. The suspects, who both appeared to be 35, then fled on foot.

The victim, 33, suffered a non-life threatening injury and refused medical treatment.

On Friday night, a store it the 3900 block of 18th Street was robbed. Police said the suspect, a man in his 50s, walked in and requested boxes of cigarettes. After the victim, 49, put the boxes on the counter, the suspect grabbed them. When he tried to flee, he and the victim got into a fight before he was able to leave with the cigarettes. The victim wasn’t injured.

No arrests have been reported in any of the cases.
