I had a great visit to the city a few Saturdays ago. Sal was playing chauffeur, and Coy was my sidekick. Our first stop was Flippers, to say hello to Kristy Cruise. She was looking happy and big as ever. Then we headed over to the Deco Lounge, where some of the gang was holding court. My favorite spot was waiting for me along with a beautiful bouquet of roses from Rick Zonnie. Kenny Allison seems to have gotten nicer, but still pours a good cocktail. Robby was great company and campy as ever. It felt like old times dishing with the gang. I was surprised when we passed my old bar, The Cockpit. It's now a corner store, but it still has a goodlooking guy running the place. After that, we had to stop in at Aunt Charlie's for a drink with Jose. Aunt Charlie's has great talent, but it wouldn't hurt if they turned the lights up in the afternoon.

After one drink, we headed over to Marlena's to see the decorations. She had drag skeletons! Our last stop was over at Kimo's. Pine and Polk has always been a great corner, and on that sunny Saturday afternoon the place was hopping. Jackie Moore and handsome Charlie caught me up on all the latest dirt, and Rachel was slinging the very tasty cocktails. It made me wish I still lived in the city, but I know I have a good life and great friends, and I can still do a bar crawl with the best of them.

Until next time, have a drink for me and send your dish and dirt to SweetLipsSF@gmail.com.
